- When selecting this option, you agree that Serious.host will fully manage your VPS server and that only Serious.host and it’s support team will have access to your VPS.
- Serious.host will provide you with all the credentials (usernames and passwords) required to manage your website(s) and Emails via a browser or 3rd party mail client.
- Hosting fees exclude server license and support management cost.
- Troubleshooting 3rd Party Web-and Email applications may incur additional costs.
- Management of the client hosting space excludes any updates to websites, whether content related or pertaining to, although not limited to site security.
- Remaining support requests are not transferable from one month to the next and thererfore expire at the end of every month if not used.
- Once alloted support requests have been depleted, an ad-hoc fee of R150.00 (incl VAT) will be charged per request.
- Even though Serious.host will take the utmost caution while managing your VPS server, we will not be held liable for any security breaches.

Please explain dedicated hosting on a VPS
VPS hosting is when you have your own dedicated hosting environment. You do not share you space or resources with anyone else and have full control over your all aspects of your server space. You have massive growth potential with blistering speed!
What is a VPS?
A VPS stands for Virtual Private Server and all it really is, is a complete Linux/Windows Operating System with its own RAM, CPU and disk space. Basically, a complete server, but not a physical thing. Think of a very big physical server that is divided into smaller sections. (Each represented as a VPS)
Do I get my own IP Address?
Yes. Each VPS is issued a dedicated public IP Address. More addresses may be requested from the VPS team.
What is a hypervisor?
A hypervisor in this context represents the container or owner of the VPS instances. Basically, the software / hardware combination that manages the virtual private servers.
What's KVM
KVM is the name given for the Server Virtualization technology. It is the encapsulation of a virtualization product and offers a high level of security.
Do I receive administrative and root credentials?
Unfortunately not.
We retain these credentials as we remain fully responsible for the maintenance of the VPS.
This solution is solely for individuals and small to medium enterprises seeking an affordable dedicated solution, without the worries of server maintenance and security.
With this solution, Serious.host is also responsible for the day-to-day management of a client’s hosting space.
Clients will therefore not have access to the host panel as with the self-managed solution.
What Linux distribution do you offer?
We currently provide Alma Linux 9.
How much of the space is allocated towards the OS?
CentOS takes up approximately 7Gb of the server’s total space and will have to be taken into consideration when calculating the amount of users that can sign up.
Do you manage the VPS?
Yes, We are responsible for management of server software, host panel security and updates, while also managing your hosting space.
You are therefore not provided with end-user access when selecting this option to ensure that we are the only “admins” that have access to your hosting space.
Hosting fees exclude server license and support management package.
Troubleshooting 3rd Party Web-and Email applications may incur additional costs.
Root access is not provided to end-users.
What software is pre-loaded?
The VPS is pre-loaded with Alma Linux 9 and Direct Admin host panel.
What about Hosting Panel Software in my VPS?
Direct Admin host panel is installed, allowing you immediate access to manage your mail accounts, domain DNS and websites.
What do YOU backup?
We backup the full server / VM weekly.
Restore of the VM, requires you to log a ticket.
Can I upgrade and downgrade my VM?
You may upgrade your VM anytime and reclaim the additional resources. Downgrading VPS storage is unfortunately not possible.

Our VPS Hosting panel has the feature to take a snapshot of your server at a point in time. This allows you to make changes to the system and if you are not happy with the result, you may rollback to that point in time. Or commit the changes. All while the server is running.
